A blog update??

By on May 9, 2017 in Blog |

This is my first blog update in almost 2 years. Why now you ask? What’s wrong with me? Am I injured? Pregnant? Retiring? Well I’ll answer that and say nothing is wrong, I am not injured, not pregnant, not retiring. So, pretty boring really. I am in the process up updating my website, which was last updated at the end of 2015. I missed a whole year!!! Clearly my social media skills are very sporadic and need improvement. I don’t write race reports. Why? Race day is very personal for me, all of the feelings and emotions of the day, and there is no point in me sharing data on power, heart rate, paces etc etc because I have no idea about this. I use them in training, but I pretty much forget all of that as soon as the race starts and all I have left at the end of the day are my memories and emotions felt through the day. That’s why I do this sport. That’s why I started. And that’s why I am...

Challenge Roth

By on Jul 16, 2015 in Blog |

I’m not one that usually writes race reports. Why? I figure there is always so much pre race, race, post race talk that there isn’t really much need to go over all of the details again and again.   But this was Roth. My first Roth. And my first sub-9 performance. So I feel I should write a short story:)   Challenge Roth (and my next 2 races as well) was not on my race Calendar until May after Atlantic City and Penticton announced changes to their prize structure. These were 2 key races for me in 2016. Naturally I was disappointed and stressed about having to reschedule the rest of my year, however, the excitement of racing Roth for the first time quickly took over and I renewed my focus.   The training build up was ideal. The last 2 weeks were a bit crazy with travel, but we (Scott and I) kept it together as best we could. I have to thank Scott for doing a great job...

A short update: June gloom be gone! It’s time for summer…in Swiss!

We are almost half way through 2015, so I felt it was time for a quick update…so here we go… Both Scott and myself have had a relatively slow start to the year on the racing front. I think for both of us it has been the first time in years we have not lined up for an iron distance race in the first half of the year! This was our plan – to ease into the year, build a strong base, and come storming home in the back half of the year where in previous years we have been burnt out and our race results have reflected that (particularly mine!). In previous years, I have started racing in February or March, and continued through to August with mixed results. My best races have usually come around mid year – and my worst from September onwards. I wanted to change that this year. Over the years I have learnt a lot about myself, faced some truths I never wanted to face (or accept), learnt what...

Hello World!

By on Dec 22, 2014 in Blog |

Hello and welcome to my official webpage! It has only taken me 5 years of racing professionally to have a webpage, and why now you may ask? Well an athlete I coach so kindly pointed out to me that I am one of the only professional female triathletes without a webpage…so I figured that now was a good time to have one I will do my best to keep you updated on my race schedule throughout the year, and also blog on a regular basis. I am not the most active person on social media, but in 2015 I hope I can change that along with keeping my webpage up to date. I have some great sponsors supporting me in 2015, with hopefully more to come. As of right now, I am 3 weeks into a very much needed break – mentally and physically. Lets just say I am paying the price for not taking enough down time over the past few years. I will be back pounding the pavement in the New Year gearing up to start racing...
